BLACK FLAG WAS / IS COOLER THAN YOU
I came across this on the web. Don’t know who did it but I appreciate the effort.
I saw Black Flag in June of 2013 at a secret Sunday show at a tiny 150-person capacity bar in Brooklyn called Grand Victory. On stage was a semblance of a short-lived 1979 lineup with maestro Greg Ginn, Ron “Chavo Pederast” Reyes on vocals, Greg Moore on drums, and relative newcomer Dave Klein on bass.
In short, it was the best punk show I’ve seen in the last 20 years. To be smashed into a tiny little bar, barely 25 feet wide, seeing one of the greatest bands America ever produced… it was almost too much. The energy and sweat in there was off the charts. And pretty much every BF song is a sing-along. I was amazed that I pretty much remembered all the words, even though its easily been 30 years since I’ve heard many of those songs. Anyway, if you were ever a fan and you get a chance to see this line up, DO NOT SLEEP.
This pic of the bar actually makes it look bigger than it really is. The one color pic on the right is mine. I was like 3 feet from the stage. The cool black and white ones I stole from HERE.
