LINER NOTES

dazzle (138 NIGHT edit) – I’ve always been a fan of Jon tejada’s more minimalist stuff. Kinda like Jerome Syndenham, he just has a knack for it like few others. I dropped a recording of some bloke reading William Blake’s “Night” poem on top just to set the mood.

pipes – Dave Pezzner is a London-based DJ and producer of commercial music. This track is hard to describe. Just listen.

back 2 back (cuthead remix) – 6th Borough project released an EP of remixes in April and this had just the right tone for a driving mixtape.

fade to green – an unreleased moody gem from Alex Egan who also records under the pseudonyms Astronomer and Skulljuice. This came out on Phonica’s 2014 “10 years of Phonica” compilation, which is worthy of your perusal.

ghana (HNNY remix) – HNNY (pronounced “honey”) is a Stockholm-based DJ and web remixer that’s been making noise for the last 3 years or so.

hachinoko  – SMD are James Ford and Jas Shaw from London. Here they team up with Roman Flaggel, whom I assume is just Roman Flugel fucking with us. Not sure. It’s techy and deep.

one – when I first heard this I thought “FINALLY Peven Everett has made another dope track!”. And yet, it’s not Peven. It’s this kid. What gives?

trommer og bass – more techy 120 bpm shit from Oslo from a kid just starting to put his foot into the Norwegian techno scene.

hool – I have no idea who this dude is but i really really really love long moody tracks like this, especially for driving in the desert

tropical juice – Much of the rest of this mix is simply deepness from the UK. Linden Jay is a drummer, DJ and producer who’s getting it in in whatever way he can.

touch me – 21 yr old kid from East London making some raw ass shit. His future looks bright.

machine code – Audiojack is Richard Burkinshaw and James Rial from Leeds who’ve been making tracks since about 2005 or so. They hold shit down in Ibiza these days.

erotic discourse (dense and pika remix) – I went nuts this year for Paul Woolford’s “Special Request” LP, which made me like drum n bass again. This is more straight up techno vibe but I can dig it.

stranger – I know there was some remixes of this track but the original does it for me. Simple. Straight ahead. Doesn’t take itself seriously.

ulooklykicecreaminthesun – just part of a longer album cut from his self-titled LP on KDJ from January of this year. A solid record IMO.

people with bullets – found this South African cut on that Djoon compilation that Black Coffee & Joe C put together.
