THE NETHERLANDS

I did a quick hop over to The Nederlands in October to get out of NYC for 5 minutes and avoid doing any real work. Not to mention I needed to catch up with some long lost acquaintances whom I missed dearly. I rarely travel completely alone, so it was a real treat. 4 days in Amsterdam and 3 in Utrecht. I hadn’t been to Amsterdam since the 90s. It’s a wonderful city and definitely best experienced by just renting a bike and rolling around. I did plenty of that, as well as eating a few very good meals and indulging in some extra strong trees. Stay off your bike, post-coffee shop. That shit is NO joke, ya heard? Here’s some random picks in no particular order.

My gracious host Vittoria Serao and new baby, sporting the freshest in Utrecht fashions. Menno was at work like a good father should be.

We, Vicky, Menno and Polly have a guest. He, Julian (circular beard and half long hair) sleeps in the attic. He is friendly, American, and pees not in the sink nor in the broom cabinet. No reason to worry, in short. Wednesday he’s gone again. Until that time, you could run in to him He’ll probably say “hello”. You can reply the same, or smile friendly. Both are nice. On behalf of Julian, thanks for the hospitality.
