MIX NOTES
Played almost an 8-hour set for the one year anniversary of Redness’ “House In The House” Twitch Party – that she has been throwing every Friday, all year, with a deep roster of great DJs from New York, Chicago and all over – keeping myself and a gang of my die hard clubhead friends alive while on lockdown. Chicago’s own Greg Gray from the Nu Bang Clan got things started and I closed us out.
It was also my homegirl Melanie Willingham-Jagger‘s Bday, so I kinda had no choice but to bring my A game. Red even conspired with Mel’s wifey (and fellow Queen City alumnus) Julia Beatty to get onto Mel’s phone and secretly block all of her social media (!), just so that the party would be a surprise! Some next level sneakiness. Respect!! A fellow DJ even told me she dug the set so much she had to move her couch, which is damn near the highest compliment I can ask for during a pandemic! But we’re almost there, people! I get my second shot next week, and I simply CANNOT WAIT to hear some loud music again, in a room full of fellow weirdos. Who knows? Maybe I’ll run into you! Drinks are on me.
